Updated: Mar 14

Whenever you travel to Positano, Sorrento or Capri, Amalfi Coast is ready to amaze you through its views and to offer the best culinary experience under charming lemon trees gardens.

1. Dine/Have Lunch in a Lemon Tree Garden.

  • Ristorante Costa Diva, in Praiano - offers both a spectaculous view over the sea and the unforgettable experience of dining under the lemon trees

    • Capri Rooftop Lounge Bar, in Capri - it is definitely in my top with the best views over the sea, I ever exprienced. Go here and you will fall in love with this place and the unforgettable view it offers over the blue Mediterranean Sea

    • Lorelei, in Sorrento, we did not get to dine here, because we could not find a spot when we were there, but we got lucky enough check the view . It is amazing!

3. Experience the Italian vibe and the local Italian Food.

Of course this headline might just sound like a cliché. Because the italian vibe is everywhere on the Amalfi coast. But this headline aims to transmit much more than that. Forget about Positano, Amalfi, Capri or Sorrento and try a day trip to another town or village on the Amalfi coast, one with few tourists, less noise and more "Italian". Our proposal, is Massa Lubrense, but any other non-touristic location, would be no less enchanting than this one. We absolutely loved walking through the place, up and down the hill, though the lemon gardens and occassionaly through the locals gardens, wandering through secret path, known only by locals. In the evening, we dined at Ristorante La Torre , a unique place, because it is an impecable, high-class family owned business, where all the family works together to offer their guests no less than the best local italian food experience you could ever experience, with home-made, organic products.

4. Get yourself lost in the Amalfi Coast streets.

Just let yourself get lost through the streets of Positano, Capri, Sorrento or Amalfi. You need no plan for getting lost. Just walk around, look above, admire the architecture, feel the lemon scents and listen to the sound of the sea and let yourself fall in love with the place. You might just want to not find the way back to your home.

5. Hike on the Path of Gods.

If you love hiking then you must definitely try a hike on the "Path of Gods". The name of the path "Path of Gods" or how the locals call it "Sentiero degli Dei" says everything! The hiking path received its name due to the breathtaking scenery it offers over the blue Mediterranean Sea and the beauty of nature, its colours and scents.

Here is an overview over this spectacular path:

  • Start and End:

    • START: You have a few options on where to kick off your hike. The more popular spot to begin the walk is in Bomerano. Bomerano can easily be reached by bus. From "Bomerano" Station there are direct signs which guide you to the trailhead. (click here for the Path of Gods Trail in Google Maps)

    • OR START: You can also start your journey from Praiano, nevertheles if you decide starting from here, prepare yourself to climb a large number of stairs which take you directly to the trailhead. Follow the red-and-white direction signs; you’ll take an entry path with views of the Convent of San Domenico.

    • END: Nocelle, near Positano - the end point of the trail

  • Distance: 7,8 km from Bomerano to Nocelle

  • Time: approx 5 hours for the very beginners. approx 3 hours for more experienced hikers considering the fact that you need to walk from Bomerano untill the trailhead and then from Nocello, back to Positano

  • Difficulty: easy/medium. Small elevation level change. The trail can be done also by beginners in good health condition.

  • Equipment: comfortable and non-slippery hiking shoes / or sport shoes, a bottle of water to keep you hydrated and sun cream.

  • Season: The trail is accessible all over the year

  • Can kids do it? Yes, because it is not difficult, nevertheles, if they are not used to hiking, then it might just be a bit too long for them

  • Tip/Advice: If you do not want to hike alone, simply through a look on airbnb and book an experience with a local expert
